Summer is here! We hope that you had a chance to enjoy some pool time over the Memorial Day weekend! This message is your weekly reminder of upcoming events and important information for Walden Glen.
Important Information for Returning and New Members
POOL HOURS, CAPACITY and WEATHER-RELATED DELAYS or CLOSINGS:
Weekend afternoons and Holidays are typically our busiest times at the pool, with evenings and weekdays being our lightest times. If you prefer a calmer experience or are ever curious how many people are at the pool before you head down, feel free to check your Member Dashboard to see the current count. You can also check here for weather-related delays or closings due to thunder and lightning.
Pool hours and real-time status are listed at the top right side of the website. Staff will make every effort to update the status so that it is current. However, if you are uncertain about pool status, call the lifeguard station at (703) 451-9503 before heading to the pool.
We are currently operating under school day hours of 4-8 pm weekdays, 11-9 on Saturdays, and 11-8 on Sundays until the last day of school on June 11. After school lets out, our normal hours will be 12-8 (M, W, F) and 11:30-8 (T, Th) and 11-9 on Saturdays, 11-8 on Sundays. You can always look up the hours at https://waldenglenpool.org/pool-hours/ if you have any questions.
CONCESSIONS: The concession stand is available to all members during operating hours and is on an honor system – you just need to get the key from the lifeguards. Children under 16 must be supervised by an adult and are not allowed into the concession stand on their own.
This year we have set up a cashless option to pay for concession purchases. There is a QR code near the cashbox in the concession stand. If you haven’t used this method in the past, you will have a quick set up and then you just enter the amount and add a comment such as “snack” and pay.
SET UP YOUR HOUSEHOLD: Please set up your household in our member database. Members with a family account can have one adult-sub-account (this account must have a different email address than the main account holder) and dependents. When you log into your account on the website, you’ll have an option on your dashboard to “set up your household.” This is important information for pool operations to have an accurate count of people at the facility. For children, you can even be notified on check in and check out! Please reach out to webmaster@waldenglenpool.org if you have any questions or need help.
Swim and Dive: Our Swim & Dive Teams are interested in welcoming new members. It’s a great way to spend your summer as you make new friends, become a part of a team and learn new skills. For more information about Swim Team, Swim School or Private Lessons, please reach out to: waldenglenswimreps@gmail.com and for more information about Dive Team and Dive School, please reach out to diverep@waldenglenpool.org.
Tennis and Pickleball: This year we have partnered with TGA Fairfax to bring members and the larger community tennis and pickleball clinics, lessons, and camps throughout the year. Check here for the offerings!
Also, there is a new tennis wall available to members. This wall was built by Brady Creech, Walden Glen Wahoo and Boy Scout from Troop 1140. This was an Eagle Scout project. The courts are available to members any time they are not being used by TGA and can be accessed using the code: 1105
