Since its inception in 1971, the Walden Glen Wahoos Swim Team has been a strong and active team known for its spirit, work ethic in the water, and sportsmanship.
Our goal is to promote the philosophy of the Northern Virginia Swim League—A love for the sport, advanced aquatic skills, teamwork, and the principles of good sportsmanship.
The Wahoo philosophy is to encourage our swimmers to have lots of fun while providing coaching and training instructions so all swimmers can do their best. We hope each swimmer will improve swimming technique/times, learn to be courteous and enthusiastic, and have a good time. Walden Glen coaches are here to ensure that all swimmers receive the attention and instruction they require to succeed.
The Wahoos compete in the Northern Virginia Swimming League, which was founded in 1956 to sponsor competitive swimming and diving in and among the community swimming pools in that area of Northern Virginia contiguous to the District of Columbia, and to develop in the children participating in this program.
